Our Birth Story - Preface
Written by: Brian and Minette

I decided to keep this journal as a reminder to myself how strong Minette has shown me that she could be. I also have found that while being pregnant her memory isn't as good as it normally is, so it will be a reminder for her as well. I have a habit of writing this down to reference them later, so this journal is born.

Being good parents, we took the Prenatal Classes before Radek was born. We went through all the exercises we could do make labour more comfortable and saw what we could expect during child birth. We saw what traditional birth is like and what to expect when complications arise. Honestly, nothing could prepare us for what we went through for six days in May. Yes, we were told that one in four births are be Caesarian Section and that different things were used to induce labour, but that information is just the tip of the iceberg.

If there is any advice that we can give, it's be patient. I have been told that I'm a very patient person, but honestly my patience was definitely tested. I am used to things working on a schedule with due dates. Having a baby throws that logic out the window. You need to be extremely flexible and be able to roll with whatever comes your way. Don't be afraid to be heard though.

     Anyway's, enjoy the journal.
